Air Plant Kokedama
Air Plant Kokedamas (Tilandsia Bromeliad) are fairly easy care. There are over 500 varieties of Tilandsia Broms. This particular type of Air Plant/brom I have found to grow really well in Kokedamas, with little care. Not all air plants are suitable in Kokedamas, but the pictured variety of Tilandsia Brom grows really well.
They do prefer a shady area, so low light will suit them. This makes them perfect for an office area. As they are in the Air Plant/Bromeliad family they are not super thirsty so will like to dry out a little bit between watering. Just make sure the kokedama is light in weight before giving it a watering/soak.

Kokedama Air Plant actual plant size will vary (due to availability of plant stock). Each living art creation is unique, but will look similar to the Kokedamas pictured in this product catalogue.
The actual Air plant will be under 10cm in height from the top of Kokedama. Generally the Kokedama ball size for this product will be approx size of a baseball. All Kokedamas are made using combination of sphagnum moss, peat moss, soil, bark and twine.
Basic Care:
Due to kokedamas being moss based, the plant root system will absorb the moisture they need to grow from the kokedama ball. When the Kokedama ball becomes light in weight, the plant will generally need watering.
- Most of the time kokedamas will need a soak once every 2-3 weeks.
- To water your Kokedama, they require a 10 minute soak with approx 5 cm of water, using a sink or bowl.
- After soaking the plant you will notice it is heavier in weight, due to the water absorbed.
- Kokedamas also like air flow, so recommend a stand to allow good air flow or hanging your kokedama.
