Mini String Gardens

Mini String Gardens

SKU: MIN-001
Mini string gardens come in a variety of Jade Kokedamas (Crassula Ovata plant aka Lucky Plant, Money Plant or Money Tree) or Wandering Jews. They are very easy care & will grow well indoors in a nice warm sunlit area. Minis will be made with either Jade, Finger Jade, mix of both Jades or Wandering Jew.

They will love a nice little sunny position & can also sometimes grow well on a bit of neglect, but don't let them completely dry out. Jades will not like to be over-watered so make sure the kokedama is light in weight before giving it a watering/soak. Jade plants will sometimes also turn a lovely red colour on the tips when it is grown or moved where it gets hours of daily sunlight, this may fade slightly when indoors. Wandering Jews will also like good indirect light & her vibrant leaves will fade if light is too dim. They are similar care, as they also won’t like to completely dry out.

Even though Wandering Jew is such a beauty they are listed out as toxic. Jade plants are classed as a perfect indoor air purifier, please also be aware that they can be toxic to animals and mildly toxic to humans. So you just need to consider this information and where it is best to position plants in your home.
  • PRODUCT INFO

Kokedama Jade plant size will vary (due to availability of plant stock).  Each living art creation is unique, but will look similar to the Kokedamas pictured in this product catalogue.

The actual Jade plant will be approx 5cm in height from the top of Kokedama.   Generally the Kokedama ball size for this product will be approx size of a tennis ball.   All Kokedamas are made using combination of sphagnum moss, peat moss, soil, bark and twine.

    Basic Care:

Due to kokedamas being moss based, the plant root system will absorb the moisture they need to grow from the kokedama ball.  When the Kokedama ball becomes light in weight, the plant will generally need watering.

    • Most of the time kokedamas will need a soak once every 2 weeks, sometimes more frequently in summer and less frequently in winter, that's why it's good to get to know the weight.
    • To water your Kokedama, they require a 10 minute soak with approx 4cm of water, using a sink or bowl.
    • After soaking the plant you will notice it is heavier in weight, due to the water absorbed.
    • Kokedamas also like air flow, so recommend a stand to allow good air flow or hanging your kokedama.

Detail care insructions for your Kokedama will be included with your purchased product.
