ZZ Gem Kokedama
Zanzibar Gem Kokedamas are super easy care and certainly one of the toughest in the plant world. They store water in their roots & leaves, this means they do not need to be frequently watered. They will like a little bright indirect or filtered light to thrive.
They are included on the air purifying plant list and known to soak up toxins from the air. However they do also form part of the toxic plant variety, so you may need to be careful on where to position them in your home, in order to suit your family and pets.
PRODUCT INFO
Kokedama ZZ Gem plant size will vary (due to availability of plant stock). Each living art creation is unique, but will look very similar to the Kokedamas pictured in this product catalogue.
The actual ZZ Gem plant will be approx 20 cm in height from the top of Kokedama. Generally the Kokedama ball size for this product will be around the size of a rockmelon. All Kokedamas are made using combination of sphagnum moss, peat moss, soil, bark and twine.
Basic Care:
Due to kokedamas being moss based, the plant root system will absorb the moisture they need to grow from the kokedama ball. When the Kokedama ball becomes light in weight, the plant will generally need watering.
- Most of the time kokedamas will need a soak once every few weeks, sometimes more frequently in summer and less frequently in winter, that's why it's good to get to know the weight.
- To water your Kokedama, they require a 10 minute soak with approx 5 cm of water, using a sink or bowl.
- After soaking the plant you will notice it is heavier in weight, due to the water absorbed.
- Kokedamas also like air flow, so recommend a stand which will allow good air flow or hanging your kokedama.
